Oldenburg Meditation Group
Samatha meditation is an effective but gentle way of training the mind to develop inner strength and freedom from turmoil, leading on to clarity, peacefulness, and understanding. There are many kinds of Samatha meditation techniques. The Technique, that we will practice/learn during the workshop, is based on attention to the breath. This way of practice is said to be suitable for all types of people especially in the West.
The Oldenburg Samatha group is a group of six people who meet fortnightly on Fridays at 7 pm to practice meditation together and have Dhamma discussion. The meditation practice is based on mindfulness of in and out breathing. Dhamma is teachings the Buddha gave about meditation, and how to develop it in life.
