Norwich Samatha Beginners’ Meditation Classes
Meets on a Tuesday 7- 8:30pm
Classes have gone “virtual”, we are now meeting on ZOOM.
The class is open to individuals who interested in learning Samatha meditation and to individuals with experience of Samatha Meditation who wish to practice within an established group.

Samatha is a form of meditation practice which applies ones attention on the breath in order to learn how to cultivate both calm and mindfulness. The breath is said to be a meditation object which is suitable for all. These sessions will also be exploring Metta (Universal Friendliness) meditation as a method to enhance self-worth. As these practices develop one observes how the mind operates and investigates techniques to bring about greater calm and mindfulness. Both on the “cushion” and in daily life.
There is currently a group meeting and learning which welcomes interested individuals to join them in exploring Samatha meditation.
Meditation is individual to each meditator, and keeps on developing and deepening over time, so guidance and discussion are provided not only in the group, but also encouraged on a one-to-one basis.
