We’re Sorry To Say
            Meditation Classes
   And Meetings
                                                        Are Temporarily Suspended

Following the latest government advice on the Coronavirus we felt it best to suspend group meetings and courses planned for the next few months.

Our priorities are to protect those who are particularly vulnerable and to slow down infection processes for the benefit of ourselves and others.

If you have a regular class at the centre your teacher will be in touch to arrange suitable ways to develop the meditation practice with your group online.

Please contact your teacher directly if you have any questions or concerns: Alan Brownlee at

Norwich Samatha Beginners’ Meditation Classes

Meets on a Tuesday 7- 8:30pm

at “The Practice Rooms” Norwich NR2 1EL

Places are strictly limited please contact Al Brownlee @ to check the dates that the class is meeting and the arrangements for accessing the venue.

Samatha is a form of meditation practice which applies ones attention on the breath in order to learn how to cultivate both calm and mindfulness. The breath is said to be a meditation object which is suitable for all. These sessions will also be exploring Metta (Universal Friendliness) meditation as a method to enhance self-worth. As these practices develop one observes how the mind operates and investigates techniques to bring about greater calm and mindfulness. Both on the “cushion” and in daily life.

There is currently a group meeting and learning which welcomes interested individuals to join them in exploring samatha meditation.

Meditation is individual to each meditator, and keeps on developing and deepening over time, so guidance and discussion are provided not only in the group, but also encouraged on a one-to-one basis.

There are lots of chairs, but if you prefer sitting on the floor please bring a cushion if you need one.
